Deraya is scheduled to formally launch and receive its first cohort of students in September 2013.
The University's launch will be preceded by a number of important milestones:
- The land plot for Deraya University was secured in September 2008.
- Architectural designs were commenced in December 2008.
- Financial closure amongst equity investors was secured in March 2009.
- The preliminary governmental license to operate was issued in August 2009.
- University planning and design have already commenced and were completed by April 2010.
- The construction tender has been completed and ground will be broken soon.
- Partnership talks with foreign academic partners are also underway. Recruiting and marketing are being conducted in parallel.
