Deraya is scheduled to formally launch and receive its first cohort of students in September 2011.
The University's launch is being preceeded by a number of important milestones:
- The land plot for Deraya University was secured in September 2008.
- Architectural designs were commenced in December 2008.
- Financial closure amongst equity investors was secured in March 2009.
- The preliminary governmental license to operate was issued in August 2009.
- University planning and design have already commenced and are expected to be completed by April 2010. Construction is set to immediately follow in May 2010.
- Partnership talks with foreign academic partners are also underway. Recruiting and marketing are being conducted in parallel.
